Connect Context to your AI

One MCP endpoint, one sentence, and Context is set up in whatever you already use to work with an AI. This page is the only place you need for it: what you get, how to add it in claude.ai, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor, what the consent screen asks, your first prompt, and what to do if something looks wrong.

1 What you get

Sign in with Google and you get a Shared Space: everything you and your agent build in Context, readable from any browser, on any device, the moment you're signed in.

Pair your iPhone as well and you also get Private Spaces: the parts of your work you keep off the shared record, unlocked only on a device you've approved.

2 Add Context as a connector

Every host takes the same one MCP address:

https://mcp.onecontext.me/mcp

claude.ai — Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → name it Context → paste the URL above.

ChatGPT — Settings → Connectors → Add → paste the same URL.

Claude Code / Cursor — run this in a terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http context https://mcp.onecontext.me/mcp

Whichever host you use, it opens the same consent screen next — see Section 3.

4 Your first prompt

Say "Nomi, get me started". The start_context tool's own description carries that exact trigger, so even a host that loads connector tools lazily and skips the server's instructions still finds it:

Nomi, get me started

start_context is the one read-only start tool — it returns your account, pairing status and Spaces, the next action to take, links to the guide and skill Resources, and an install plan for this host: a local host (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) gets a .claude/skills/context/ (or .agents/skills/context/) target plus a zip URL and its sha256 to verify; a hosted chat host (claude.ai, ChatGPT) instead gets a "download the zip and upload it under Customize → Skills / Skills → Create → Upload" step. Either way, it then points you at the guide and interviews you in rounds before charting your first Context map.

The skills it points you to — the base context skill (the interface itself), then rules, setup-context, daily-brief and their dependencies wayfinder and grill-me — are the same set either mode gets; only how they're delivered differs.

5 Troubleshooting

  • Want to pair later? Nothing is lost by finishing without an iPhone. Come back any time and choose Reconnect on the connector — the same consent screen offers pairing again.
  • A tool call fails with PAIRING_REQUIRED. That tool needs a Private Space, which needs a paired iPhone. Choose Reconnect on the connector and pair one.
  • “This connection is already finished.” You've already completed consent for this connector. Choose Reconnect on the connector to pair (or re-pair) an iPhone.
  • “This iPhone is linked to a different Context Account.” That device is already paired elsewhere. Unlink it in the app first, then pair it here.

6 Optional: a second connector for your blog

Running Context Blog too? It's a separate connector at a separate address — https://sites.onecontext.me/api/mcp — added the same way as above, alongside Context rather than instead of it. See the Blog guide for the full setup.
